Fall Cards
I am thankful for my weekend with lots of scrapbooking time. While I'm sorry I don't have any mosaics to show for my weekend of working, I did make some great fall-themed cards. So, I thought maybe they might inspire you? Happy November!
What are you thankful for?

Hot Air Balloon Layout
Ok, so maybe this isn't the most flattering picture of me. But, it was taken by a dear friend on a girl's night out and I really wanted to share the layout. We were having a play date at Archivers and they were having a "past and present" theme that allowed you to print some free 4x6 pics and a free enlargement. We were there on Fri night and Saturday night so I was able to get the 8x10 of mom and Owen and a 12x12 of the Balloon being inflated. Then, I also got some free snapshots to work in. I really love how this layout turned out!

Fridays Are for Friends
Last Saturday at the Komen Crop I met Amanda, who is a big mosaic fan. She had just made this awesome mosaic to remember her Color Me Rad run. I know my photography skills were a little lacking but I love how she was able to get the clouds of color in the background. This is such a fabulous mosaic layout that I just had to share!!

Doggone Cute Cards
Above pic is the inside of the card below. The tail is on a spring to give it that "wagging" effect!
This is a sampling of some of the cards I will be selling at the Lebanon Pooch Parade this Saturday, October 19, 2013. The parade will take place on Mulberry Street in Lebanon, OH. I am selling cards to raise money to send Samantha (my niece) to space camp. I will also have some holiday and space-themed cards for sale! I'm planning on selling the cards $2 each or 3 for $5.
I will also be selling raffle tickets for this canopy bed custom made for 18" dolls such as American Girl dolls. It can, of course, also be used for a dog bed - my dogs sleep in one just like it!! Raffle tickets are also $2 each or 3 for $5!

Griffin's Birthday Party
I can't say for certain, but I believe this is the first mosaic I have done with/for "baby Griffin." The pics were taken at his first birthday party in March 2013. He was loving those balloons! The accent papers came from a freebie I got from Creative Memories and the monkey stamp - I can't remember the brand right now - came from Stamping Buddies in Cincinnati.
The monkey theme has to do with Griffin's binkie - it has a stuffed monkey attached to it and he takes it EVERYWHERE - so rather than go with a character theme like we usually do for birthday parties, I made Griffin's "nasty nippy" - the feature on his poster and the stamp!!

My Niece's 4-H Project
Pay no attention to the disaster of a mess behind her! This is my niece, Isabelle, showing off of a few of the pages she prepared for her 4-H Scrapbooking Project. She got an A as her grade, but judging will come this week during the Warren County Fair! Send her some positive energy!!
In this layout Isabelle featured pictures of a cruise she took with her grandparents. Both pages have nautical rope embellishments, buttons, and coordinating paper for the photo mats, tags, etc. The paper on the right side is from Close to My Heart's "Majestic" line and she tied it in to the cruise patterened paper she had purchased, on the left side, by making her journaling block and tags from the same papers.
For this layout featuring pics of a turtle farm she visited in the Cayman Islands, Isabelle used a Close to My Heart page pattern as her foundation. The patterned papers are from Close to My Heart's "Footloose" line. Isabelle leaned an advanced 3-color stamping technique to make the turtles on these pages. She also stamped her own wooden button embellishments. For this layout, she learned how to use the Creative Memories shape cutting system to cut the oval picture.
This Dunns' River Falls layout was Isabelle's absolute favorite of all the ones we made. It was also built from a Close to My Heart page pattern and featured some patterned papers from the Close to My Heart's "Majestic" lie. Isabelle cut each piece herself, inked all the edges with coordinating ink using a sponge. She also learned about a variety of adhesives including red tape (for adhering ribbon), zots (for adhering buttons) and the Xyron "X" sticker maker to adhere the title letters she cut out using the Cricut "Opposites attract" cartridge.
And, of course, this one is my (Uncle Debbi's) favorite of them all because Isabelle let me teach her my Mosaic Moments technique to make a photo mosaic of her Butterfly Show pictures on Bahama Blue grid paper!
Cross your fingers that she gets a ribbon!!! We worked really hard!

Soccer Coach Cards
I know they're not mosaics, but hey, I have deadlines to meet! LOL!
This is a card I made for Samantha's soccer coaches. Her team was maroon and they chose their team name to be the moustaches!

Magical Disney / Hollywood Studios Layout Class in Cincinnati
The Disney layout features the Mickey Mouse wizard hat similar to the one at Hollywood Studios in Orlando with the word "Magical." The photo mat paper for the two large photo openings is a sparkle/glitter paper that doesn't really show up well in the photos.
I'll be offering this class at Stamping Buddies in Deer Park/Cincinnati on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 1:00-3:00 p.m..
Call the store at (513) 891-CRFT to reserve your spot!

Columbus, OH - We're Bringing Vegas and Hollywood Studios to You!
Some of my Red Letter Journals students have been asking for Disney classes and a couple of students asked me to bring the Vegas layout to Columbus, so here we go!
The Disney layout features the Mickey Mouse wizard hat similar to the one at Hollywood Studios in Orlando with the word "Magical." The photo mat paper for the two large photo openings is a sparkle/glitter paper that doesn't really show up well in the photos.
The Vegas layout features a variety of papers from the Reminisce Passports line that includes poker chips, dice, card suits, etc. It is very busy, just like Vegas!
On Saturday, June 22, 2013, we will offer a double-header class at Red Letter Journals in Grove City, OH with both of these layouts. You may choose to take one class or both, as you desire.
Please call the store (614) 539-3900 to verify the class times and reserve your seat! I look forward to seeing you there!

Puppy Love for a Puppy Lost
A friend of mine recently suffered the loss of her sweet daschund, Bentley. I was at Stamping Buddies last weekend and I saw this adorable stamp set. The head/face is on the front of the card and the butt goes on the inside left flap so it looks like he is poking through the card. The hind end sits on a spring so it wiggles, making it look like the tail is wagging! It comes with the sentiment "Friends to the End" and I added some additional sentiments from the Stampin Up "D is for Dog" set that included "A dog wags its tail with its heart" and then the sentiment on the inside right side of the card that says "sorry for the loss of your best friend." (not pictured)
I'm still working on my Copic marker coloring techniques but the card is pretty cute nonetheless!

No Time for Scrapbooking?
Like so many of you, my life has been crazy busy lately. I have had some creative energy but no time to work with it. Last night I blocked off some time to finish up some cards. I hope to get some mosaic layouts done this weekend both for myself and for upcoming classes!
These bicycle cards are for my nephew to send to folks who supported his school bike-a-thon fundraiser.
The hot air balloon card is to commemorate my mom's first flight in a hot air balloon this weekend. It was a Christmas gift from my sister and I hope my mom just loves it!
Stay tuned right here for pics of upcoming classes at Stamping Buddies and Red Letter Journals - hope to see you soon!

LEGO LAYOUT - ONE MORE CHANCE
If you have been wanting to make the Lego Layout but haven't yet had the chance, please take advantage of the opportunity to do so on May 18, 2013 at 3:00 at Stamping Buddies in the Deer Park/Kenwood area of Cincinnati. I am told that the manufacturer is no longer making this Lego paper so once my stash is gone, so is this layout!
Please call the store (513) 891-CRFT to make your reservations. AND - as a bonus, there is a trunk sale going on at the store that day. Crafters will be selling their pre-loved craft items out of their trunks, vans, etc. in the parking lot up until 3:00 p.m. so be sure to get there early so you can check out their wares!

Creative Memories Candy Shop Layouts
I am working with Creative Memories Consultant, Kathleen Groeschen, in Mason to offer a joint Mosaic Moments / Creative Memories workshop. We are creating the above mosaic using CM's "Candy Shop" paper pack.
Keep in mind that the patterned papers can serve as mats/backgrounds for your photographs, or you can replace any of the pieces with your own photographs, solid color cardstocks, etc. Also, as with all page patterns, you can rotate one or both of the pages to modify the appearance or make it fit your photographs (vertical, horizontal, etc.)
I have also created the following additional class samples by combining the remaining papers in the Candy Shop pack with Raspberry grid paper and Spring Green grid paper. I will have these grid paper colors available for the students to purchase on the date of the class. If you (or your Creative Memories consultant) would like to work with me to bring a similar workshop to your location, please contact me via email: owensaunt1@aol.com.

July 20, 2013 Cincinnati Crop - Mosaic Class Offering
On July 20, 2013, Shelly Allen (Close to My Heart) and I will be hosting a crop at the Cincinnati Church of Christ, 4220 East Galbraith Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45236 in the cafeteria. Details about the crop and other class offerings will soon be updated on our blog: www.scrapbookcropandshop.blogspot.com.
Minerva Mosaics is offering a beginning
Mosaic Moments class where students learn the basic Mosaic Moments page layout
system techniques – including measuring and cutting to fit the grid, photo
taking and other tips. The class includes all papers and photos to complete two
12” x 12” pages. I am thinking this
layout would be great for pictures from the butterfly show. Further,
if you bring the photographs so that you can finish your page while at the
crop, I am offering some prize drawings!
Students will gain valuable hands-on experience, and will leave the
class feeling confident in using the Mosaic Moments system and inspired to
create fabulous pages. You will be amazed at how easy the grid system is to use
and how creating these great pages takes far less time than you could have ever
imagined.
Supplies Provided to Each
Student:
· The Mosaic Moments 14” x 14” craft mat
· Photos· Mosaic Moments Grid Papers
· Paper Tiles and cardstock
· Lil Chizler tool

and use in class instead of the provided mat and receive a $20 credit to spend
at the Minerva Mosaics table.

· Herma Dotto REMOVABLE adhesive· 12” or 15” metal ruler with cork or rubber backing
· A good quality craft knife or rotary cutter with sharp blade.
Note: I plan to have only a limited number of each of these items
available for sale at the crop so please notify me in advance if you wish to
purchase same.

St. Patrick's Day Irish Layout!
Hey ladies! It's been a while since I posted any new layouts. I'm working hard on some new samples for classes so there should be more to come in the next couple weeks. In the meantime, I wanted to share this layout that I worked up on Saturday while I was working at the St. Joseph's Crop a Lotta in Cold Springs, KY. It was a great crop and I met some wonderful new mosaic fans.
This layout was made using a line of St. Patrick's day themed, double-sided paper from Reminisce. It may be tough to see but there were some celtic knots, some shamrocks and some argyle/plaid papers I couldn't decide between "irish" or "lucky" for the word on the left side, but I had someone who wanted to buy the layout on the spot so we went with her choice, Irish! If anyone is interested in seeing this as a class, please send me an email and we'll try to get it on the calendar.
